1.0.2

Mercury CLI 1.0.2 adds a crew board, Crew chat in the Workbench, local recording transcripts and editor sign-in. Prompt-cache changes lower the cost of long sessions. Fixes cover permissions, MCP connections, providers, installation, sessions, unattended runs, context and terminal input.
Added
- Added an opt-in crew board: turn on Swarm in /config, then use /swarm on for new crewmates. Share questions, answers and results with @mentions, team channels and corrections. A question or blocker addressed to the lead arrives as one grey [Crewboard] row and wakes it when idle, as does a result addressed to it by name; other results paint without waking it. A crewmate launched with swarm on is told its name, its team and the other crewmates on the board, and when to post and read. The context allowances and the post length have no cap unless you set one in /config; two loop guards stay on (4 posts a minute, 120 posts per agent in a wave), and /swarm uncap, cap and status manage a live wave.
- Added Crew chat in the Workbench: /swarm opens a read-only timeline of board posts and crew messages, grouped by thread and team, with each author's name and time.
- Added transcripts from local audio and video files through Read, with numbered, timestamped segments decoded on-device. The speech model downloads on first use; most formats need ffmpeg.
- Added mercury acp --login for editor sign-in: open Mercury's sign-in screen in a terminal, choose a provider and return to the editor when sign-in finishes.
- Added mercury.exe: a native Windows launcher in the release archive, so an extracted archive runs from PowerShell or Command Prompt without installing. mercury.cmd and mercury.ps1 stay beside it.
- Added /resume, /models and /advisor as aliases for the sessions screen, model picker and advisor switch.
- Added Anthropic prompt-cache diagnostics to the debug log, naming changes between requests.
Changed
- Changed Flow to ask before five things and run everything else: sudo and any other privilege escalation; git that publishes or rewrites history; publishing and deploying; deleting or overwriting a path outside the project, its worktrees, this run's scratch and the temp folders; and your own ask rules. Deny rules still refuse; reads are free everywhere.
- Changed Craft bridges to start on first use and reuse the connection. FilmCraft, PhotoCraft and LightCraft stay available without idle bridge processes at session start.
- Changed Anthropic's one-hour prompt-cache tier to survive a relaunch of the same session while the paid hour and matching prefix remain, reducing cache writes during long sessions.
- Changed Anthropic requests to send thinking blocks the API drops back unchanged, keeping the cached conversation intact and lowering long-session cost.
- Changed housekeeping to prune compile caches for retired Node versions and stale bundled-extension folders, and rotate the Bash audit log while keeping the newest rotated files.
- Changed cost estimates to use refreshed provider prices, including Kimi's input, output and cached-input rates and Hugging Face's provider prices.
- Changed OpenRouter requests to carry Mercury CLI's app attribution, so usage made through Mercury appears under its name on OpenRouter.
- Changed the MCP server Mercury offers to editors and clients to announce itself as Mercury CLI with its version and website.
- Changed the quiet update check to stay off when MERCURY_DISABLE_NONESSENTIAL_TRAFFIC is set, with the other non-essential traffic.
- Changed the model picker to label Gemini rows that share a display name by their ids, and to list each Qwen model once.
Fixed
- Fixed eight permission faults: deny rules cover every shell operand, path aliases, symlink swaps and recursive reads; MCP server rules stay separate, and Implement mode asks before writing .husky hooks.
- Fixed sixteen MCP faults: credentials are scrubbed from connection errors, OAuth callbacks and custom headers work, nested optional nulls are handled, and lost connections end the waiting call without replay.
- Fixed thirteen provider faults: dotted model ids keep their limits, reasoning text is retained, retries follow provider wait instructions, and usage estimates keep replies with missing counts from appearing free.
- Fixed seven installation and update faults: custom zsh startup folders receive the PATH entry, uninstall leaves unrelated folders alone and removes its PATH edits, and updates prune versions past the rollback copy.
- Fixed nine session and crew faults: one process writes a session at a time, --max-time also ends crewmate work, launch hooks run and saved titles apply. A slow resume keeps its warm runner and waits for loading.
- Fixed fourteen unattended-run and context faults: broken output pipes end the run, invalid --schema and --mcp values refuse before work starts, and large PDFs, nested guides and hook output fit their context budgets.
- Fixed eleven terminal-input faults: Vim word edits preserve line breaks, multiline paste keeps tabs, Hangul width is counted correctly and colour settings and terminal restoration are respected.
- Fixed Windows shell commands surviving a killed session, and launchers disagreeing on a version pointer with a byte-order mark or blank first line. Windows PATH entries in quotes are recognised as the same folder.
- Fixed /health repeatedly rebuilding Python's bytecode cache when different Mercury builds are installed; recently used build caches stay available for later checks.
- Fixed prompt-cache rewrites during screenshot-heavy work by retiring older screenshots together when the cache is cold or the image ceiling is reached. Context refreshes after compaction keep later requests stable.
- Fixed media workflow exports to keep sampling and post-processing settings, and completed renders waiting on a job-record write that failed while another process was reading it.
- Fixed the Workbench's mouse wheel: a burst no longer jumps into the next panel and repaints, rows at the bottom of a long list stay painted, and a flick scrolls at most a page.
- Fixed two Windows asks: a quoted Windows drive path no longer raises the network-share question (which could leave a streamed run waiting), and a copy to a drive path outside the project asks in Flow like any other outside write.
- Fixed titles of runs that start on a warm runner: the saved title now reaches the session's transcript as it does for a cold start.
- Fixed transcript search to read every tool's own result text; Document results are searchable by file path and detail.
- Fixed the /context chart not appearing when the count finished after the session's warm start.
- Fixed the Python SDK's type check and the Read sniff that mistook a UTF-16 text file for audio; a bare MP3 or AAC stream without an extension still reads as audio.
- Fixed a session going quiet on screen after a resume: a crew board mention recorded before the first turn started a second thread in the transcript, and later replies and typed lines painted as a fragment or not at all. Rows now chain onto the conversation, an already-split session paints again, and a resumed runner no longer re-paints mentions it recorded before.
- Fixed the mouse wheel in lists: a notch moves the highlight one row, as one arrow does; the transcript and other scrolling panes keep three rows a notch.
- Fixed the computer driver refusing every click on a page that carries a reCAPTCHA attribution badge; the handoff now waits for a real challenge.
- Fixed context budgets for the Kimi K2.6 and K2.7 models, which read a 200,000-token fallback; they are pinned at 262,144.
- Fixed a tool definition the conversation never used being resent whole after a compaction; it is deferred like the rest.
- Fixed Bash in the default mode asking about a cwd spelled as the current folder in another way; such a spelling is read as the current folder.
- Fixed mercury update reporting a previous version kept and a rollback available when no earlier version was installed; it now says there is nothing to roll back to.
- Fixed Gemini through Sign in with Google refusing a request after a crew-board message arrived beside a tool result; the message now rides inside the result.
- Fixed a crash of the session's background runner on Windows when an image was read: the Windows OCR engine was started and shut down around every call and the next call failed inside Windows; it now runs on one thread that stays up for the life of the session, so reading pictures and OCR on Windows work again.
