Mercury CLI: A complete environment for AI-assisted development
Work with agents that can edit your code, run tests and use a debugger. Keep several tasks running, see what each agent is doing, and review the changes. You choose the models, tools and permissions for your project.
Use OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Moonshot, Z.AI, OpenRouter, Hugging Face, xAI, Meta, or your own local models.
What it does
- Run multiple sessions in one terminal, each backed by its own model provider
- Spawn secondary agents on completely different models
- Swap model providers mid-task without leaving the chat
- Local models on your own machine with Ollama, LM Studio or llama.cpp, set up from inside Mercury by /localsetup: it finds or installs the server, pulls the model you choose, sets its window from your machine's memory and proves a reply
- Built-in Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP) debugger, and tests that step into it
- Language server integration with previewed refactors
- Search and edit code by syntax shape
- Computer use: the model sees your screen and controls the active window
- Voice dictation: run Whisper locally, or use OpenAI's or Google's speech APIs with your own keys
- Editor bridges: VS Code, Unity, Blender, Godot, Aseprite, or any Agent Client Protocol editor
- JevEval: a numerical second opinion from TypeSafe's Jev on closed questions over evidence, with your own TypeSafe key or through OpenRouter
- Scheduled sessions and persistent project memory
- Permission modes ranging from strict ask-first to fully autonomous

Pick the line for your machine and run it in a terminal.

When it finishes, open a new terminal and run mercury.
