Mercury CLI: A complete environment for AI-assisted development
Mercury CLI is a terminal-native environment for AI coding agents. Edit code, run tests and use a debugger. Keep sessions and git worktrees going and review every diff. You choose models, tools and permissions.
Native to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Moonshot, Z.AI, OpenRouter, Hugging Face, xAI, Meta, Mistral, Nous Portal, OpenCode Zen, Qwen, MiniMax, Together AI, Cohere, Groq, Cerebras, Fireworks AI, or your own local/hosted weights.
What it does
- An AI coding agent in your terminal that edits code, runs tests and shows every diff for review
- Several sessions side by side in one terminal, each on its own model provider
- Crewmates that run in parallel, each in its own git worktree and each on a model of its own
- Switch model provider in the middle of a task without leaving the chat
- Local models on your own machine through Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM or llama.cpp, with guided setup from inside Mercury
- A built-in Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP) debugger, and tests that step into it
- Language server (LSP) integration with refactors you can preview before they apply
- Structural search and edit by syntax tree
- Project memory that stays on your machine and ranks by meaning as well as by words
- Web search that needs no API key, and page fetching that returns markdown
- Computer use: the model sees your screen and controls the active window
- Voice dictation with Whisper on your machine
- Editor bridges for VS Code, Unity, Blender, Godot and Aseprite, and for any Agent Client Protocol editor
- JevEval: a numerical second opinion from TypeSafe's Jev on closed questions over evidence, with your own TypeSafe key or through OpenRouter
- Scheduled sessions that start or wake at a set time
- Permission modes from strict ask-first to fully autonomous

Requires git; the archive carries its own Node and ripgrep.
In Windows PowerShell, or after a Homebrew, npm, bun or mise install, run mercury in the same terminal; after the curl script on macOS or Linux, open a new terminal or follow the PATH line the installer prints, then run mercury. See Quickstart.
